Stale Bread

A BLAST FROM THE WORD
By Sandra Rhynes
"Stale Bread"

John 6:35 And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger and he who believes in Me shall never thirst."

My husband wanted hotdogs for supper. I was sure I already had some buns and would not have to fight the "after work" women in the check out line. While looking for these buns I came across a package of hotdog buns that were not good. They were molded and stale. You know you can’t make great hotdogs out of stale and moldy bread. My thoughts went to Jesus as the bread of life. The bread from Him will never be stale. We can feast on Jesus anytime, anywhere, on any day or night. Don’t you want to keep your Christian life from getting "stale"? You wouldn’t, by choice, eat stale bread yet at times we don’t feed our souls and spirits the nourishing-fresh word of God. We just plug along on yesterdays "meal" and "eat" any old junk food that happens to come along. We just watch any old thing or read any old thing that comes along. Soon our Christian living becomes "stale" and "dry." We are too in a hurry sooooo we just grab any old thing to fill our souls and spirits. We need to take time to feed on the real Bread Of Life and drink the real Living Water. This Bread that is always fresh and the Water that is always clear and pure. J-E-S-U-S! J-E-S-U-S! J-E-S-U-S!
Lord and Savior, Forgive me for being so busy. Help me to take time to read Your word and pray. Not just to ask for my needs, but, to be thankful and to praise and worship You. I thank you Father for Your forgiveness and mercy. In Your name I pray. Amen

Your Phone Call

A BLAST FROM THE WORD
By Sandra Rhynes

“Your Phone Call”

Isaiah 43:1…Fear not for I have redeemed you, I have called you by your name, you are mine”…

Hello, This is Jesus…

I am your King of Kings calling you about an important message here in the heart of Heaven. Sending you an invitation.

I was crucified for your sins, rose from the grave on the 3rd day and I am sitting at the Father’s right hand.

Soon He will tell Me to make the trip and bring you home to Us.

I want to extend a humble invitation to my children that I have known for a long time and to you who have not met Me yet. Come call on Me, you are Mine as well.

I am preparing a place and a supper for you. I look forward to seeing you and I can’t wait for you to come to My wedding table.

Bye for now, Jesus

As A Little Child

A BLAST FROM THE WORD

By Sandra Rhynes

“As A Child”

Matthew 8:27
The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey Him!”

There has been a lot of conversation about Hurricane Ike, and rightly so. While watching all the newscasts, I noticed something; they wanted you to see all of the worst scenarios. Understanding that hurricanes are catastrophic and you do worry. The disciples were also worried when they saw the waves coming and felt them rock the boat, so much that the water was splashing in the boat. Storms are unpredictable things. Then I began to see a different picture. The one with someone standing up in the very storm they were afraid of. Jesus knew the disciples didn’t have anything to worry about. He knew in the midst of the storm, He was about to change their life forever. Just the sound of His voice calmed the wind and the waves. I like to think this was maybe hurricane wind and waves. If He is the Lord of all, and He is, then it doesn’t matter what kind of storm. He is Lord of hurricane wind and waves as well as a delicate spring rain shower.
My two-year-old granddaughter loves Bob the Builder. She thinks Bob can fix anything, “just give him a call.” We have this broken acoustic guitar. It stays behind the closet door. She happened to spy that guitar and wanted to play it. I told her it was broken. She looked up at me with the look of wonderment that only a child possesses and said, “Gamma, Bob can fix it.” She got up went to the phone; punched the buttons and said, “Hello Bob, come fix my gamma’s guitar.” She then put down the phone and went on her merry way. It was forever settled in her mind; worry was over. She had gotten hold of THE ONE, the one who could “fix” anything. The Bible says we can’t even enter Heaven without the faith as a little child. I believe it is not only faith---it is a knowing, a knowing of the “ONE” who “even the winds and the waves obey Him. Do you have a “hurricane” in your life that needs calming? Call on Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God! Forever settle it in your mind and heart…He Is The One and Only! Amen!

Lord of the universe, let me see You as the One and Only. Thank You for the many, many blessing above my need. Calm my storms and restore peace to my soul and spirit. Take control of my mind and replace it with Yours. Amen

In The Flesh

A BLAST FROM THE WORD
By Sandra Rhynes

“In The Flesh”
Job 19:25,26 & 27
25 For I know that my Redeemer lives, and He shall stand at last on the earth; 26 And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, that in my flesh I shall see God, 27 Whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!

Poor Job! He went through sooooo much. He really hit rock bottom. He had no family, no friends, no health and no money. In fact, He was so sick with boils that He took a piece of pottery and scraped his sores. This situation looked like it was more than Job could stand. Wonder why Job didn’t just curse God and die? These scriptures tell us why. Job knew God was going to take care of him----no matter what. Job said, “Though God slay me yet I’ll trust Him.” If he died, he would be (in the flesh) with his Redeemer, his Savior, the One he loved and worshiped. The One he trusted with his very life and the life of his family. If he was healed, then he would be thankful and go on and serve his Beloved until the time came to go to his heavenly home. Whatever way life went down…….Job would hold on to the One who has the last say. Sounds like WE are winners either way. Oh my goodness, what a promise. We (with our own eyes) shall behold Him in all His glory! Does your heart yearn within you to see Him?

Jesus my Beloved, thank You for loving me. Thank You for your tender mercy and grace. I know I will see You in my flesh. Thank You for the promise of heaven. I trust You completely with my life and my family and my unsaved loved ones. I yearn to be with You just as Job yearned the same. Amen
