A Blast From The Word

“Who’s Your Master?”
Acts 16:17
This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, "These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation."
This verse was a real eye opener to me this week. This slave girl had an evil spirit and she could tell the future. She made her owner a lot of money. You know, satan knows if you are a servant of the Most High God and so do the people that follow you. My dad used to say that he could sum a fellow up by just talking to him and all it took was just 5 minutes. Here is my question to you, “who is following you?” When they talked to you for about 5 minutes, what do you tell them? Do they know who your master is? Do they know where your priorities are? Do they leave you hearing about a Savior? The slave girl had followed Paul and the others around for several days. Paul was just about fed up with her continuous repeating of the same words, so here is what he does. I can just see Paul in my minds eye. Whirling around kinda irritated like, he says, “In the Name of Jesus I command you to come out of her.” The Bible goes on to say that the evil spirit was gone that same hour. Her owner was not too happy, infact, he was mad. Sometimes when we tell others about Jesus, it does make them mad. Sometimes they scream, yell and slam doors. They don’t want to hear about the Lord. Especially if it touches their money or if they know they are still doing wrong. We must not let anything stand in our way of telling them about Jesus. Well, I could go on forever about this scripture, but I am running out of room. Read this chapter and allow the Lord to speak to your heart.
Lord of all, I come to you with a great awakening. I want others to see Jesus in me. You are the only Master for me. I ask in Your name to take away all the thoughts and feelings and all the things about me that You are not pleased with. Especially those things that are in the deep corners of my heart. Create within me a clean heart and a right spirit. Amen
