"The One Two Punch"

A Blast From The Word
By Sandra Rhynes

“The One Two Punch”

Mark 12:30-31
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment. 31. And the second, like it, is this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” There is no other commandment greater than these.

Wow! These are pretty strong words. Love is the leading affection of the heart, soul, mind and strength. First of all without love, nothing that is good is done, or done right. The greatest of these is Love. The heart, soul, mind and strength are all connected. If you love, really love, with one of these-then all of these areas love. Then, the Golden Rule comes into effect. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. We are of the same “body” “Christ’s Body” He loves us all the same. We are to love our neighbor the same way as He loves us and gave His life for US ALL……… Soooooo
Love God
Love you neighbor as yourself
That’s It---period

Say. I love You Lord. Without Your Love, I can’t love others in the right way. Help me to love Your other children as You love me. Fill me with Your love. Amen

"Comfort Zone"

“Comfort Zone”
1Thessalonians 4:18
Therefore comfort one another with these words.
Think of the last time you were truly uncomfortable. Was the weather so hot you couldn’t stand it or were you so cold you couldn’t think? Maybe you did something that made you uncomfortable or you were in the presence of someone that made you uncomfortable or the clothes you had on that day were to tight or too loose and you were uncomfortable. So many things can make us feel that way. The last time I was uncomfortable was the time it snowed about 4 to 5 inches and before the snow came sleet and we had a thin layer of ice covering everything. We couldn’t get off of work early and the snow was coming down swiftly. First of all I was very uncomfortable walking from the building to my pickup. I thought I would be in the horizontal position before reaching my destination. Of course the windshield and all surrounding windows and mirrors were covered and all I had to scrape that stuff off with was a little, short, plastic scraper. I do not drive in the snow because of the obvious and I am sure not tall enough or strong enough to scrape the windshield. Climbing upon the running boards, scrape I did. Cold and wet and with the hood of my coat over my head (I looked like a monk) and making one small stop at the store for milk, I was finally and very slowly on my way home. Wanting soooo badly to be home, I was miserably uncomfortable.
While reading my Bible in the A.M. this verse jumped off of the pages. Comfort one another. Of course the comforting words we are to speak to one another are found in 1Thess. 4:16-17. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel and the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. AND THUS WE SHALL ALWAYS BE WITH THE LORD!!!!! AMEN
SAY: I will forever be with the Lord!

"Celebration Of Love"

A Blast From The Word
By Sandra Rhynes

“Celebration Of Love”

John 15:13
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

Can you imagine? I can hardly think about what it takes to lay down my life for another person. But, Jesus did it. This is love in the highest degree. No one took it from Him. He gave His life up freely. He physically climbed on that cross and allowed the soldiers to pound spikes into his hands. He physically allowed them to push a crown of thorns on His head. Can you shut your eyes and see it? No other person on this earth, in the heavens or under this earth, living or dead, or in any other universe did this supreme act of love, only Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God. Happy Valentines Day!
