One Body

“One Body”

1 Corinthians 12:19-20, 27
If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

We all have our place in the body of Jesus Christ. It doesn’t make any difference who you are, what color you are, or how much money you have or don’t have or what your name is, we “all” have our place in the body of Christ. Everyone is the same at the foot of the Cross. There are no little I’s or big you’s. There are no nobodies. Our whole physical body needs our big toes and our little toes. Things are the same in the body of Christ. I read a little article by Charles Swindoll the other day and let me quote, he said, “Nobodies. What a necessary band of men and women…servants of the King…yet nameless in the kingdom! Men and women who, with silent heroism and faithful diligence, relinquish the limelight and live in the shade of public figures.” To this I say, AMEN and AMEN again and again. Praise God we are a part of the body of Christ. Just think of all the “nobodies” in His body. They make the Kingdom run. To all of you who think you are a “nobody” in His kingdom-----think again!!!!!

Say: Most Holy Precious Jesus, with thanksgiving, I come to You, I am willing to follow Your plan for my life. I am willing to do what You would have me to do, great or small. Keep me humble and full of love and compassion for others. Show me my place in Your Kingdom Work. Amen

Lord Save Me

“Lord Save Me”

Psalms 7:1-2
O Lord my God, in You I put my trust; Save me from all those who persecute me; And deliver me, Lest they tear me like a lion, Rending me in pieces, while there is none to deliver.

Boy, you think you got trouble!! David and his mighty men ran from Saul. David put his trust in God Almighty, not in the arm of flesh. David compared Saul to a lion that would tear him to shreds. Basically, David said, “Lord, if you don’t hurry up and deliver me, there isn’t going to be any part of me TO deliver.” The one thing I like about David is: He always kept getting up. It didn’t matter what Saul did to him or promised to do to him, David prayed about the situation, praised God and kept on going. He may have had some hard situations and at times disobeyed God, but in the end David knew Who to trust. Have you ever felt like someone has torn you into pieces? Let your situation push you to running to Jesus as fast as you can. The evil things others do to us should drive us to God. Allow Him to renew and revive you, TODAY!

Say: My Lord and Savior, thank You for coming to my rescue. Your praise will continually be in my mouth. Hide me behind Your Cross. Amen.

Substitutions

“Substitutions”

Daniel 3:16
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said… “Be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods.”

We use sugar substitute, generic meds, as compared to…cosmetics, perfumes, food, pop, butter…etc. When it comes to the “real thing” we look at the all mighty dollar first. If it looks like, smells like or tastes like the “real thing” we will pick the cheaper every time. On some things we have the tendency to settle. There is one thing we, under no circumstances should we settle for less than the “real thing”. We should never, never, never settle for another god, no matter what. Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, is the One. He is the One True and Living God. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, there is no substitute. We must not serve any other thing or person, but Him. He is the Creator and was here from the beginning of time and before that. God has always been. He is the Great I AM. Do you put anything or any person in God’s place?

Today purpose in your heart to keep Jesus the center of your life and don’t settle for less or for another god. There is eternity to think about.

"The Light"

“The Light”

Psalms 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

What is it “feed a cold and starve a fever”, or is it “starve a cold and feed a fever?” I don’t know. I do know if you don’t read and study the Bible, you will starve your soul. You know starvation doesn’t happen over night. It happens gradually. You go a day or two without and all of a sudden, you are in the starvation mode. Then you say to yourself, “I will read the Word tomorrow. I am too tired right now.” Pretty soon you are in the “dark” instead of the “Light” and don’t have a clue how you got there. Things start on a domino effect. They just seem to get on a roll. You go to bed and pray, “Lord, I don’t know what has happened, things are not so good, what am I going to do?” He says, “Child come back to me, remember when I wooed and compelled you to get back into my light? Now is the time, let Me be the lamp to your feet and the light to your path.” Jesus loves us so much. His Word is one of the most powerful ways He communicates with us.

Today “Catch The Fever”---Read the Bible, get into the Word of God!!!!

"The Intent Of The Heart"

“The Intent Of The Heart”

Psalms 19:14
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight oh, Lord my strength and my Redeemer.

I can assure you, what ever is in your heart WILL come out of your mouth. What comes out of our hearts should be for the glory of God and the edification of others. We can ask ourselves this question, Is this acceptable in the sight of our God? Of, course we have all said things we wish we could take back. We have all said that last hasty word or remark. I have said to myself, “why did I say that!” It was said to me like this one time. “Words are like toothpaste---once it is out you can never put it back in the tube.” But, praise the Lord, we do have an advocate. The Lord Jesus Christ will come to our rescue if we go to Him and ask forgiveness. We can also go to the person and say, “I am sorry.” The Lords Prayer says if we don’t forgive---we won’t be forgiven. (Matthew 6:9-13) When we have done all we can do to stand for the Lord---then we continue to stand. What’s in your heart?

Today let us go to the Lord in prayer and pray Psalms 19:14 as it is your own personal prayer.

"What If"

“What If”

Matthew 6:34
Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and can’t sleep. Try as I may, sleep does not come. I toss and turn, squirm and sweat and watch the clock. My mind goes to the “what if’s” about tomorrow or next week. It doesn’t matter what day, all I can think about is what I am worried about for the future. Am I the only one who does this? I think not! Maybe you worry about your children, other family members or future events. The Bible says not to worry. We should pray instead. Of course, you and I know this, but, NO, being human---we worry. Jesus said what we have committed to Him, He is able to keep unto that day. Did you know that along with tomorrow’s troubles Jesus also gives daily strength and supply? Have you committed all of your worries to Him? When you wake up in the middle of the night, try prayer first. Pray with a thankful attitude. You will be surprised how much more rest and sleep you will get. Most of the time what you are most worried about never takes place. Let tomorrow take care of it’s self. Only prayer can change it anyway. Jesus is the only one that can do anything about today or tomorrow. He is the same---always!

Today look at all your worries and assess them. Give them over to Jesus. Let all burdens roll over on Him. When we share them with Jesus the burdens lighten up and they transfer from worry---to trust. Trust in Him.

Christian

A Blast From The Word
By Sandra Rhynes

“Christians”

Acts 11:26
…………..And the disciples were first called Christians at Antioch.

I have heard my Mother say a million times, “Boy, you could never deny that kid, he looks just like you.” It is always such an honor for our own children to favor us. I love to hear someone tell me that even my grandkids look like me. We all favor someone in our looks. Who do we favor in our actions and deeds? In the previous verses Barnabas was described as a good man full of the Holy Ghost and faith. Wonder who his actions and deeds looked like? The meaning for Christian is: having the spirit or qualities of Christ. To be Christ like. When I say “I am a Christian” it means a lot. It’s who I am. It’s what I breath, what I eat, what I sleep with and what I wake up with. In Him I live and breathe and move and have my being. Praise His name; we are made in the image of Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God!!

Today take a look in the mirror and then take a look in the Living Word and see just who you look. Do you look like yourself or do you favor Jesus?
